Chile is facing an increase in illegal entry of agricultural and forestry products, particularly potatoes, from Peru and Bolivia, countries with which Chile does not have health agreements. These illegal entries pose a significant risk to agriculture and potentially to people's health, as they could introduce pests not present in the country. The National Director of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) is urging citizens to report smuggling practices and to buy from established businesses to protect the country's health and food security.
