The Saratov region in Russia has harvested 6.53 million tons of grain, a yield that is four times more than its consumption needs. The region has cultivated over 14 types of grain and leguminous crops, with eight being exported abroad, including wheat, barley, and corn. Since the start of the year, the region has shipped about 2 million tons of grain and its processed products outside, with the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, and the Leningrad region being the main recipients. Wheat is the primary export crop, with the main export destinations being Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the ports of Krasnodar Territory, Rostov, and Astrakhan regions. To increase agricultural exports, the region plans to build new logistics chains, modernize production facilities, and invest in new elevator capacities, railway loading and unloading sites, and logistics sites.
