Ukrainian agricultural exports in October increased by 38% compared to September, totaling 3.9 million tons. This was reported by grain market and logistics analyst Maxim Kharchenko of UkrAgroConsult. "There was a decrease in wheat exports, but this was offset by the arrival of new crop corn. Also, shipments of sunflower oil and meal almost doubled," noted the expert. According to Kharchenko, at the end of October, the freight market for grain transportation from Ukraine showed relative stability in all directions and for most types of vessels. "After a brief increase in rates a week earlier, shipowners of small bulk carriers are now facing difficulties in maintaining higher freight levels – the supply of tonnage in the region has slightly increased, which halted the further rise in tariffs," he explained.
