Vietnam's seafood exports in 2021 saw a 7% increase compared to the previous year, totaling $3.4 billion and accounting for 38% of the country's total seafood production. Despite challenges such as social distancing, factory closures, labor shortages, capital sources, and increased input costs due to COVID-19, the industry experienced growth. The export structure included fish (excluding tuna and pangasius), tuna, squid, octopus, crabs, and bivalve molluscs. The most significant increase was in bivalve molluscs, with a 35% rise. The top five markets for squid and octopus exports were South Korea, CPTPP, Thailand, EU, and China.
