South Korea: Seafood exports in the first half of the year, record high

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will strengthen overseas marketing so that seafood exports can continue the upward trend in the first half of the year, secure new customers, and support export industries that are suffering from rising logistics costs. According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, in the first half of this year, exports of agricultural and fishery products recorded $6.21 billion, up 14.6% from the same period last year. Seafood sales recorded $1.71 billion, up 37.2% from the same period last year. Agri-food also rose 7.9% to $4.5 billion. As of the first half of this year, this is the highest level for both aquatic and agri-food products.
