Due to the closure of Chinese ports, fishermen in Primorye, Russia are increasing exports of their catches to South Korea and Japan. The regional government has extracted 386.9 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources since the start of the year, which is 85.3% of the 2020 volume. The main fishery is pollock and herring, with crabs and shrimps making up about 14 thousand tons. Exports to South Korea and Japan have increased significantly this year, and there is potential for increasing supplies to CIS countries and Africa. The goal of the state program "Development of the fishery complex" for 2020-2027 is to increase the output of the fishery complex in the region by 1.5 times by 2027.
