During the 2023-2024 campaign, Peru achieved a significant milestone by obtaining Senasa certification for 89,186 hectares of grape plantations across nine regions, including Ica, Piura, and Lambayeque, which contribute largely to the country's grape production for export. This certification signifies a crucial step towards meeting the sanitary and phytosanitary standards required by international markets, with the United States being the leading consumer, followed by the Netherlands and China. The campaign saw shipments totaling 523,567 tons, predominantly of the 'Sweet globe' and 'Red globe' varieties. Peru's grape exports have reached 98 markets worldwide, with efforts underway to expand this number, thanks to international negotiations and the resilience and growth potential of its grape industry.
