Senasa certified DRA Huancavelica as a producer of high-quality potato seeds

Marking a new momentum for Huancavelica's agriculture, the National Service of Agrarian Health of Peru (SENASA) delivered the Seed Producer Registration Certificate to the Regional Agriculture Directorate (DRA) of Huancavelica, a document that will allow it to officially assume the production of certified potato seed for farmers throughout the region. This certificate authorizes the DRA to produce and commercialize, for the next season, at least 50,000 pre-basic potato seed tubers of native and improved varieties, with the aim of increasing yields, ensuring uniformity of crops, and improving the quality of regional production. "Planting quality seeds is harvesting the future," noted SENASA authorities, highlighting that the use of certified seed ensures high germination, varietal purity, homogeneity in production, and greater resistance to pests and diseases, which translates into better economic income for producing families.
