Turkey's grains, pulses and oilseeds sector, accounting for 48% of the country's food product exports, reached $12.4 billion in 2023 and targets $14 billion in 2024. The Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association tripled its exports to $1.068 billion in a decade, exporting to 157 countries, with Algeria being the top destination. In 2024, the sector plans to participate in international fairs in UAE, Japan, US, Russia, and France, work on the 'Turkish Tastes' project in the US, and develop the 'Food Sustainability UR-GE Project' for sustainable production in line with the EU's Green Deal strategy.
