In Ukraine, mass sowing of winter rapeseed has begun. This is evidenced by operational data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, reports APK-Inform.
As of September 1, a total of 377 thousand hectares of this oilseed were sown in Ukraine, which constitutes 33.8% of the planned 1.114 million hectares.
Currently, 17 regions of Ukraine are conducting rapeseed sowing, with the largest areas sown in Vinnytsia and Ternopil regions - 85 thousand and 78 thousand hectares, respectively.
It should be noted that as of September 2 of last year, 446.2 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed were sown in Ukraine, which accounted for 37.8% of the 1.18 million hectares sown as a result of the campaign.
The ministry also released forecast indicators for the sowing areas of winter grain crops for the 2026 harvest. Thus, this year it is planned to sow 4.778 million hectares of winter wheat (5 million hectares in 2025), 576.1 (592.2) thousand hectares of winter barley, and 69.3 (64.4) thousand hectares of winter rye. Thus, the total area of sowing winter grains in Ukraine in 2026 is forecast at 5.368 million hectares, compared to 5.657 million hectares a year earlier.
