The Sinan County Fishery Cooperatives Association (President Kim Gil-dong) collaborated with the Jeonnam Marine and Fisheries Science Institute, Sinan County, and the Jangdo Island Fishermen's Association on the first of the month to release 20,000 young octopuses into the waters of Jangdo Island, Sinan County, in order to protect marine resources and increase the income of fishermen. The Sinan County Fishery Cooperatives Association and the Jeonnam Marine and Fisheries Science Institute have been carrying out the release of various types of fishery seeds in accordance with the "Business Cooperation Agreement for the Enhancement of Marine Resources in the Sinan Sea Area" signed in 2023. The Fisheries Resources Development Institute supports the release project for the creation of fishery resources by going through the spawning and cultivation processes of various fish species such as sea bream, octopus, and sand lance. President Kim Gil-dong said, "Through the release of octopus, a specialty product representing Sinan County, we aim to increase the income of fishermen."
