Tridge summary

Signs of nitrogen and phosphorus starvation are observed in winter rapeseed crops in the central and southern regions. The reason is the sharp fluctuations between day and night temperatures, which slow down the intake of nutrients by the plant. Serhiy Kornyushenko, the manager for the development of agricultural technologies in the Southern region of LNZ Group, notes that in such conditions, an effective solution is foliar feeding using complex fertilizers. One of the proven options, he says, is DEFENDA Makro at a rate of 2 liters per hectare.

In the central and southern regions, farmers are increasingly observing signs of nitrogen starvation in winter rapeseed crops. The reason is sharp temperature fluctuations and active mineralization of crop residues. This was stated by Serhiy Kornyushenko, the manager for agrotechnology development in the Southern region of LNZ Group. "The differences between day and night temperatures slow down the intake of nutrients by the plants. In particular, on most fields where rapeseed is sown, there is a blockage of phosphorus. The leaves of the crop acquire a violet hue, which is a typical manifestation of phosphorus starvation," he explains. Another factor that exacerbates the problem is the high amount of nutrient residues after the predecessor winter wheat and barley (which absorb nitrogen) and the surface tillage of the soil. Because of this, at the early stages of growth, rapeseed experiences a lack of this element. The specialist notes that in such conditions, an effective solution ...
