Since October of the previous year, China has seen a significant increase of about 26% in egg prices, with the average price currently standing at 5.13 yuan per kilogram. This surge is primarily due to a decrease in the number of laying hens, which has led to a limited egg supply. Additionally, the cost of chicken feed and the condition of the chicken supplement market have contributed to the price hike. Despite some dealers refusing to purchase more due to the high prices, experts predict that egg prices will continue to rise, especially with the profit rebound of laying hens and the anticipation of spring festival demand.
