South Gyeongsang Province in South Korea is experiencing a surge in marine product exports, with a projected total of 244 million dollars this year, exceeding the 2011 record. The main exports include oysters, fish cake, pollack, and conger eel, with Japan, China, and the United States being the primary importers. The province is investing 39.5 billion won in projects to establish a fishery food industry base complex and aquatic product processing and storage facility. Additionally, the province plans to build an eco-friendly aquaculture feed factory and a national fisheries research institute to support the seafood industry and develop high-efficiency and high-quality compound feed. Other initiatives include the establishment of a new fishery food industry division, a clean national fishing port pilot project, and efforts to improve living conditions and tourism in fishing villages.
