Spring sowing of crops in Belarus has commenced, with early spring cereals and leguminous crops covering 31.5% of the planned area. The progress varies regionally, with Brest leading at 76.5%. Soil preparation for an additional 46.2% of the planned area is also done. Sowing of specific crops like spring rapeseed, flax, sugar beet, and annual grasses is well underway, with potatoes and corn sowing starting slowly. The agricultural sector is encouraged to meet a grain production target of 8.877 million tons this year.
