The planting of the 2025/26 soybean crop in Patos de Minas, in the central-west of Minas Gerais, is delayed compared to the same period last year and still has no date to begin, according to the local Emater. Agricultural engineer Fernando José da Silva explains that the producers of Patos de Minas already have the areas prepared for cultivation in the 33 thousand hectares planned, but the absence of regular rainfall prevents the start of sowing. There is an expectation of precipitation over the weekend, which may allow the work to advance. If the climatic conditions improve, the expected average productivity is around 3,900 kg/ha, a performance similar to the previous crop.
