Spain calls for negotiation between the EU and China over pork tariffs

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, has called for dialogue to resolve the tariff conflict that has arisen between the European Union and China regarding European pork and has expressed his willingness to assist the sector in the face of this issue.

In a press conference after chairing the agrarian advisory council with the professional agrarian organizations Asaja, COAG, UPA, and Unión de Uniones, Planas mentioned this Friday China's announcement to impose provisional tariffs of up to 62% on imports of European pork.

"We are always in favor of negotiated solutions," said the minister, while also appreciating the collaboration provided by Spanish companies that have been targeted by China in this process.
