In 2023, Spain saw a 6% decrease in fruit and vegetable exports, totaling 11.3 million tons, but the value of these exports rose by 6% to EUR 16.855 billion. Despite a 3% drop in vegetable exports, their value increased by 11% to EUR 7.883 billion. The majority of these exports (83%) were absorbed by the EU, highlighting challenges in accessing non-EU markets. Meanwhile, Spain's fruit and vegetable imports grew by 7% in volume and 19% in value, reaching 4.1 million tonnes and EUR 4.473 billion.
