A report by NielsenIQ reveals that meat consumption in Spain increased by 2.7% in 2023, reaching 2.21 million tons. Despite inflation causing a decrease in consumption of pricier meat products, meat remains a staple in the Spanish diet, with the average Spaniard consuming 32.4 kilos in 2023. Fresh meat's popularity also increased by 3%, with chicken, pork, and beef accounting for about 75% of the total fresh meat consumed.
