This week, after 18 years of negotiations, the EU and India have signed a trade agreement that allows companies from EU countries access to over 1.4 billion consumers. This pact, which foresees eliminating or reducing tariffs on 96.6% of EU goods exports, would save Spanish companies 4 billion euros annually in tariffs. In particular, wine, which had a tariff of 150% in India, will see its tariff drop to 20% for the premium range and 30% for the mid-range. In this context and for now, Spain is the ninth supplier in value to India with 0.5 million euros and the eighth in volume with 0.2 million liters during the last rolling year up to November 2025.
