SSP takes center stage in the fertilizer market by 2025

Last year, producers were already purchasing KCl for the 2025/26 crop almost a year in advance, attracted by competitive prices and a favorable exchange rate. Currently, however, the situation has reversed: few chloride operations are recorded, while SSP has gained strength, with significant volumes traded in the last four weeks and movements that are catching the market's attention. According to the specialist, although demand for KCl has decreased, its prices remain stable, about US$ 80 per ton above the same period in 2024. This increase directly impacts the exchange rate, making it less advantageous to anticipate purchases and causing producers to adopt a more cautious stance in managing inputs.
