A study by Agrosavia has highlighted the need for improving production indicators and meat quality in the Caribbean Coast of Colombia, a region crucial for cattle and meat exports. The main challenges include the fluctuation in food quality and availability due to climate change. However, strategies like the rational use of drought-tolerant species, strategic supplementation with preserved forages, and agroforestry systems can enhance productivity and meat quality. Efficient grazing systems and supplementation with energy and protein concentrates can also improve carcass and meat quality, reduce emissions, and increase productivity by 501 kg/ha/year. These strategies are expected to enhance the region's competitiveness in the cattle and meat industry.
