Vietnam's Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Le Minh Hoan, has stressed the importance of processing and marketing stages in the value chain of agricultural products, stating that these stages can significantly increase value and profit. He pointed out that only 20-30% of the country's agricultural products are currently processed for export, whereas in Taiwan, the figure is around 80%. The minister believes that an active plan for agricultural product processing is necessary to add value, solve issues of oversupply, and enhance the value of seasonal products. The national conference on promoting agricultural processing and market development was the first of its kind and attracted leaders, enterprises, and cooperatives involved in seafood and food processing, as well as high-tech agriculture. The minister also showed interest in traditional Vietnamese fish sauce, expressing the hope that businesses would continue to sustainably develop and promote this product on the global stage.
