The African Development Bank is set to provide $73.81 million to Sudan for an emergency wheat production project. The project aims to address Sudan's food insecurity, which has been exacerbated by economic recession, hyperinflation, and crop failures. The project will procure and deliver climate-adapted seeds and fertilizers, with the goal of more than doubling Sudan's wheat production from 630,000 tons to 1.52 million tons within two years. Sudan, a country heavily reliant on agriculture for its economy, has seen increased prices in staple foods and necessities due to global market trends.
