A survey by Cepea shows that in September, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for white crystal sugar, Icumsa color of 130 to 180, in the spot market in São Paulo, had an average of R$ 118.65/sack of 50 kg, a sharp drop of 17.54% compared to one year ago (September/24), in real terms – deflated by the IGP-DI based on August/25. According to the Research Center, since the official start of the 2025/26 sugarcane crop in April this year, the monthly averages have been below those recorded in the same period of 2024, with the largest negative difference being observed in September/25.
