Sunflower cultivation in Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul, is experiencing good prospects with an initial estimated productivity of 1,856 kg per hectare. The municipality of Santo Ângelo and surrounding areas have allocated 696 hectares for the crop. Currently, 7% of the crops are in the flowering phase, 62% are in the grain filling stage, and 30% have reached maturity. The technical team has assessed the development of the plants as excellent, and the plant population and general appearance of the crops indicate that the expected productivity should be achieved. The price of sunflower is quoted at R$ 120.43 per 60 kg bag, making it an attractive crop for producers in the region.
