Ukraine's sunflower harvest is starting early due to hot and dry weather, but crop yields and oil content are low, potentially leading to losses of 25-30% of the forecast. Despite this, processors have not increased prices. New harvest sunflowers are being offered at UAH 19,000-20,000/t. Meanwhile, global market prices for sunflower oil and meal are decreasing due to an oversupply of cheap alternatives like soybean meal, soybean, and palm oil. The European Commission has also reduced its sunflower production forecast for Europe due to unfavorable weather.
