In June, Ukraine's sunflower processing volume dropped by 36.36% due to reduced raw material stocks, leading to a 7% decrease in sunflower meal exports to 412,000 tons, a record for the month. Exports to the EU fell by 40% to 105,000 tons, the lowest since May 2023, while exports to China increased by 3% to 214,000 tons, the highest since January 2023. For FY 2023/24, Ukraine's meal exports rose by 21% to 4.2 million tons, with the EU as the main buyer. From July 2024, the EU's import duty on Russian and Belarusian meal may boost demand for Ukrainian meal. Sunflower meal prices fell by $4-5/t to $190-195/t due to increased feed grain supply and lower global corn prices, with further pressure expected from South American soybean meal and EU rapeseed meal.
