The Ukrainian agricultural cooperative, PUSK, has forecasted a rise in the country's sunflower seed prices due to limited supply this season, which is impacting both the domestic market and export potential. Despite high demand, processors are unable to meet their capacity. Currently, sunflower seed prices vary between 26,000 - 26,500 UAH/t, with most farmers expecting a price of 30,000 UAH/t. The vegetable oil market is currently in decline, but PUSK anticipates market stabilization and growth in January. The current margin for processors has dropped to a critically low level, creating challenges for factories. It is expected that vegetable oil prices will recover in January-February, leading to an increase in sunflower seed prices.
