Support for blackberry wheat for farmers in Atakum

Samsun's Atakum Municipality has accelerated efforts to promote the production of karakılçık wheat to protect ancestral seeds and strengthen local production. Municipal teams delivered karakılçık wheat seeds, produced in Karaoyumca Neighborhood, to families whose livelihood depends on agriculture. Led by the Rural Services Directorate, the initiative distributed karakılçık wheat seeds, grown on a 5-decare section of a 9-decare area in Karaoyumca Neighborhood, to producers in exchange for a protocol. Each farmer received enough seeds to plant a 5-decare area. Producers will return the same amount of seeds after the harvest, ensuring the continuity of cyclical production.
