Fifty pregnant Frisian Holstein dairy cows from Australia have been imported into Indonesia to support the Free Nutritious Meals and Milk Drinking programs, and to work towards national milk self-sufficiency. This is part of the government's strategy to increase the dairy cow population by adding 1 million cows in the next five years. These cows, owned by PT. Juang Jaya Abdi Alam, will be located in Lampung to provide milk for the province. Additionally, 600 dairy sheep and goats have also been imported, belonging to PT. Samana Agri Yasa, and will be sent to a quarantine facility in Central Java.
