Vietnam's cashew exports in March 2022 saw a slight decrease compared to the previous year, with a total of 40,000 tons and a value of $241 million. Despite this, the exports experienced a significant increase of 57.9% in volume and 59.9% in value from February 2022. However, when compared to March 2021, there was an 11.8% decrease in volume and 9.0% decrease in value. The first quarter of 2022 saw a total export of 105,000 tons valued at $630 million, marking a 6.7% decrease in volume and a 5.0% decrease in value from the same period in 2021. The average export price per ton of cashew nuts in March 2022 was $6,024, showing an increase of 1.2% compared to February 2022 and 3.2% compared to March 2021. The US remains the largest importer of Vietnam's cashew nuts, with a significant increase in import price from Vietnam, Nigeria, and Brazil compared to January 2021. Despite a slight decrease in market share, Vietnam is expected to continue as the leading cashew supplier in the US in 2022 and the years following.
