(Busan=Yonhap News) Reporter Son Hyeong-ju = The Busan Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 1st that it will conduct a preliminary survey on the demand for contract cultivation of 'Hwanggeumyechan'. The survey, which will run until the 13th, targets farmers in the Gangseo district of Busan who are cultivating rice. The results of the survey will be used as basic data for adjusting the volume of contract cultivation in the future and for selecting participating farms to promote the project. The surveyed variety, 'Hwanggeumyechan', is a region-specialized rice variety suitable for the farming conditions in the Busan area, known for its superior quality and high consumer satisfaction. Last year, 72 farms participated in the contract cultivation of 'Hwanggeumyechan', producing a total of 603 tons, all of which were delivered for school meals.
