Egypt: Swelim held a meeting to follow up the transition to modern irrigation in the fields of sugar cane and palm trees

Dr. Hani Swelim, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, held a meeting to follow up the executive steps for the transformation to use modern irrigation systems in sugar cane farms in Upper Egypt, and the transformation to modern irrigation systems in crop cultivation in Siwa Oasis. During the meeting, Dr. Swailem reviewed the procedures for developing watercourses by converting them into pressurized pipes with a single lifting point system with the use of solar energy as an energy source in line with the state's policy towards expanding the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy. Swailem was briefed on the procedures for transforming modern irrigation systems in the cultivation of crops, palm trees and olive trees in Siwa Oasis, especially in the 12 deep wells that the ministry dug within the framework of the project to develop the irrigation and drainage system in Siwa Oasis.
