With less than two months until the Lunar New Year of 2026, many businesses, distribution systems, and livestock households in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region have already developed supply plans, preparing goods to ensure pork demand during the year-end peak and the upcoming Tet holiday. According to Mr. Võ Thành Giàu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment, after the merger, the addition of surplus land and farm systems from Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces has significantly increased local agricultural supply in Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, about 60% of the agricultural products serving the Tet market are supplied from within Ho Chi Minh City, while the remaining 40% are imported from other provinces and cities.
