Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State in Nigeria is the only area where coffee is produced due to neglgence by federal and state governments. Small-scale farmers in areas such as Kusugu, kakara, Nguroje, Yarimaro, Yelwa and Likitaba are producing coffee despite lack of funding. Coffee farming requires significant start-up capital, including land preparation, seedlings, fertiliser, pest control, and water pumping machines. The demand for coffee is high in Nigeria, and local processors make good profits from processing and selling locally grown coffee. Farmers are calling on the federal government to provide funding to expand their activities and incentivise them to increase production.
