The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in Indonesia is planning to increase investment in the marine and fisheries sector by 15% in 2024. The Minister, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, has also stated plans to collaborate with several countries for investment, particularly in tuna fish and lobster cultivation. The investment value for the fisheries sector is projected to reach IDR 12 trillion in 2023, with an anticipated increase of 15% in 2024. The Ministry aims to raise fish and seaweed production to 30.85 million tonnes in 2024, with a fisheries GDP growth rate of 5-6%, and an increase in fisheries export value.
