Technology improves irrigated fruit farming project in Vão do Paranã, Brazil

The Vão do Paranã Irrigated Fruit Farming Project, an initiative of the State Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) of Goiás, is receiving technological innovations that promise to revolutionize the management of mango and passion fruit crops in the region. The implementation of weather stations and the development of a dedicated application are at the center of these advances, coordinated by the Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do São Francisco e do Parnaíba (Codevasf) in partnership with Embrapa Cerrados. Weather stations are already in operation in Flores de Goiás, with two others scheduled to be installed in Formosa and São João d’Aliança. These stations collect crucial data such as temperature, relative humidity and evapotranspiration, which are essential for accurately adjusting crop irrigation.
