Thailand's rice exports are showing signs of recovery due to a strong supply and competitive pricing, with a 14% increase from the previous year, reaching 8.8 million tonnes. However, a potential increase in raw material from Cambodia and Vietnam may cause exports to drop to 8 million tonnes in 2023-24. Additionally, production is predicted to decrease by 5% in the same period due to dry spells and flood damage. Wheat imports for 2023-24 have been revised upwards to 3 million tonnes, but are still 5% below the forecast for 2022-23, as rising demand for feed wheat imports will not offset a slow recovery in bread wheat demand.
