In August 2025, the agricultural sector registered a growth of 6.4% compared to the same month in 2024. This result was driven by the increase in the agricultural subsector by 9.4% and the livestock subsector by 2.5%, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). The products that showed the highest increases in production in the eighth month of the year were: olive +1339% (in Arequipa); blueberry +117% (in La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Ica); avocado +41.5% (in La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Ica), and waxy corn +28.7% (greater harvested area in La Libertad, Ancash, and Piura), among others. The higher production of potato +11.1% (in Arequipa, La Libertad, and Huánuco), cocoa +10.0% (in Ucayali, San Martín, and Junín), and others was also highlighted in the period.
