In its annual report on the evaluation of agricultural policies, published this Thursday, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) explains that in 2022-2024, subsidies to farmers in China represented 13.3% of the value of production, compared to just over 5% in 2000-2002. Across the OECD, this percentage decreased from over 28% in 2000-2002 to 13% in 2022-2024, which is the latest reference. Of the 54 countries analyzed in the study, only China, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Ukraine saw a relative increase in aid, and in practice, the Asian giant was the only one where this increase was of such magnitude.
