The US Department of Agriculture has predicted an 8% increase in apple harvests in Poland this season, resulting in a total of 4.4 million tonnes. This would make Polish apples 37% of the EU's total apple production. However, harvest forecasts by the Central Statistical Office and WAPA are lower, at 4.2 million tons and 4.495 million tons respectively. The Association of Polish Fruit Growers has suggested a more conservative forecast of less than 4.0 million tons.
