Spain's agro-food cooperatives have reported a cereal yield average of four tons per hectare, resulting in a total production of 22.5 million tons from 5.5.5 million hectares of cultivated land. This achievement is despite a reduction in cultivation area by 400,000 hectares since 2011. The secret to maintaining production levels lies in improved crop management, the proper use of certified seeds, and well-conditioned grains for sowing. The predicted harvest breakdown by crop type is: soft wheat, 7.2 million tons; durum wheat, 930,000 tons; barley, 8.7 million tons; oatmeal, 1.1 million tons; rye, 290,000 tons; triticale, 760,000 tons; and corn, nearly 3.5 million tons.
