INTERFAX.RU - Russia will lift the ban on wheat imports from Kazakhstan, imposed on April 23, 2025, starting October 20, reports Rosselkhoznadzor following negotiations between the head of the service, Sergei Dankvert, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yermek Kenzhekhanuly. The ban was imposed on supplies from several regions, which are major wheat producers. Now, imports will be possible under the guarantees of Kazakhstan's national plant protection agency. During the negotiations, the issue was also raised that a significant portion of plant products imported from Kazakhstan is not presented to Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors for control at the destination. This is a violation of the EAEU legislation on plant quarantine. Thus, since the beginning of the year, 419.2 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products have been imported from Kazakhstan to Russia, and only 29% were presented for control.
