The article highlights the Carob cultivation's rise in Campo de Cartagena as a profitable and sustainable solution against climate change. The tree, known for its resistance to high temperatures and drought, fixes a significant amount of CO2 and improves soil. It can yield between 2,000 to 3,000 kilos per hectare under regular conditions and up to 10,000 kilos with modern plantation techniques. Despite the current use of its pulp mainly as a feed additive, efforts are underway to incorporate it into human consumption. The tree requires minimal investment for production and offers numerous environmental benefits, including the creation of shaded areas and providing food for wildlife.
