The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam has approved a project to develop the cassava industry sustainably until 2030 and beyond, with a goal of generating an export revenue of 1.8 - 2 billion USD by 2030. The project aims to enhance production efficiency, apply science and technology in production and processing, and maximize by-product usage. It also focuses on sustainable farming and the establishment of a value chain. By 2030, the country aims to have a significant increase in cassava production, with a majority of the cultivation areas using sustainable practices. The project also involves collecting and storing genetic resources of cassava varieties for breeding, developing new disease-resistant and high-yield varieties, and improving sustainable production and processing technologies.
