The catches of Far Eastern fishermen of the Russian Federation exceeded the production volumes of the whole of Europe

By the end of November, Russian fishermen had caught almost 5 million tons of aquatic biological resources. This is 10% more than in 2022, arguei.ru reports. In the Far East alone, production volume amounted to more than 3.7 million tons, which is 15.6% more than last year. It is curious that the Far Easterners surpassed the result of the entire European Union, which in the West, understandably, prefers to remain silent about. Last week, European officials finally tallied last year's catches. Eurostat has published catch data for 2022. It turned out that all the fishermen of the European Union produced only about 3.4 million tons of aquatic biological resources in seven marine zones during the year. Moreover, 70% of total production comes from the Northeast Atlantic. The key commercial species there were herring, sprat, northern whiting and mackerel.
