The 2026/27 sugarcane crop in Brazil's Central-South region is expected to reach 620.5 million tons, a 3.6% increase from the previous cycle. If confirmed, the result will represent the third-largest harvest ever recorded, according to a projection by StoneX. The expected growth is attributed to three factors: the rejuvenation of the sugarcane fields following increased renewals in 2024/25 and 2025/26, the expectation of normal rainfall between October and March, and the expansion of the harvested area, which is expected to reach 8 million hectares, an increase of 1.8% from the current cycle.
