The Korea-China longline fishing exchange meeting will be held in Jeju in April next year. Representatives from both countries' private fisheries organizations, including the Korea Fisheries Association (President Jeong Young-hoon) and the China Fisheries Association (President Chui Lifeng), held the 19th Korea-China Private Fisheries Consultation on the 17th in Weihai, China, to check the status of the implementation of the 2025 Korea-China Private Fisheries Agreement and to broadly discuss future directions for cooperation at the private level. During this consultation, both sides discussed resolving the difficulties Korean longline fishing vessels are facing due to operational interference and safety threats from Chinese longline fishing vessels within the China-Japan provisional measures area, and agreed to hold the Korea-China longline fishing exchange meeting in Jeju, Korea in April 2026.
