In 2021, Colombia's dairy imports reached the second highest value on record, surpassing both 2019 and 2016. Despite a 24% decrease from 2020, the country imported 53,728 tons of powdered milk and other derivatives. The United States was the primary supplier, followed by Bolivia and France. The reduction from 2020 was attributed to the exchange rate by Oscar Cubillos, head of the Planning and Economic Studies Office of Fedegán-FNG. Overall, the year saw a significant increase in the cost of dairy products, with the price per ton rising from USD 2,551 in January to USD 3,339 in October.
